Product Description
Fine Woodworking's test of Highland Woodworking's carbon steel bandsaw blade yielded impressive results. This blade was chosen as a top pick for cutting speed and smoothness of cut among a field of 19 quality blades, and won the top honor for flatness of cut. We having been saying for years that this carbon steel blade leaves a smoother kerf than other popular brands we've tested, and their welds are the best we've seen in general-purpose blades. Tooth set is modest, trading just a bit of minimum radius capability for cleaner cutting. The 1/16" blades with pronounced tooth set let these extremely narrow blades literally turn on a point.

Summary: good blade for resaw work 2008-11-07
Comment: I have this blade installed on my 14" bandsaw with 6" riser block. I use this saw/blade mostly for resaw work.
After installing this blade and adjusting the guides, I resawed a three foot length of 8" wide Jatoba (AKA Brazilian Cherry). If you've ever worked with Jatoba, you know the stuff is hard as nails. This blade sliced through it without a complaint. I was able to maintain a solid feed rate and the blade tracked true without any noticeable deflection or drift.
Even with the aggressive tooth on this blade, the cut was reasonably smooth, much better than some blades, and nothing that a few light passes through the planer wont take care of.
If you want a dedicated resaw blade for your saw, this blade would be a good choice.
