Carter Products 50010504 1/2-Inch-by-105-Inch AccuRight Bandsaw Blade

I was very disappointed in this blade. It was sharp and cuts well except for one glaring and unforgivable defect: the weld joint wasn't straight. Where the two ends of the blade come together, they weren't aligned in a straight line, but the back edge of the blade kinks backward more than 1/16 inch when set next to a 12 inch straight edge. This means that the blade at this joint thumps against the bearing on every revolution through the saw.

This is the first Carter band saw blade I have purchased, so I don't know if this kind of poor quality blade is common or unusual, but it's hard to understand how it wasn't caught during the manufacturing process.
