I bought it for it's 7" clearance under the blade guide and it's relatively low cost. It was not the easiest thing to assemble as the stand is not well marked. Fortunately you only have to assemble it once. The only real drawback is the small table, but for those of us who aren't profesionals this is the perfect bandsaw. 47 of 47 people found the following review helpful: By "richaverett" (Plano, Tx United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: DELTA 28-195 10-Inch Band Saw with Stand (Tools & Home Improvement) I purchased this saw mostly because the price was right for a floor model bandsaw. It works well but after about 6 months it started knocking. I was talking to a fellow woodworker who had the same saw and he said it was the lower wheel bearing. I have just finished a big project so I'm going to take it in to the service center.I have gotten more and more into bigger projects and now wish I had purchased the 14 inch for several reasons. The table is to small, and is not as heavy duty, it doesn't seem to have enough power at some times, the miter gauge is flimsy, and it doesn't have a fence. For a hobbyist this is a great saw but if you are even considering doing more advanced woodworking get the 14 in. 13 of 13 people found the following review helpful: By "woodsman1960" (Alpharetta, GA United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: DELTA 28-195 10-Inch Band Saw with Stand (Tools & Home Improvement) The thirty two fasteners to put the base together were a bit of a pain, but the saw cuts great. I would have put the lamp on the same power as the saw instead of needing two outlets. A hint - dont tighten all of the nuts on the base until you have it all together. I had to loosen a few to get it to sit straight. |
