Product Review
Product Description
We took the most popular bandsaw size and added many features only found on much larger and more expensive machines. Features such as extruded aluminum fence and rails, quick release blade tension, miter gauge, upper and lower ball bearing blade guides, enclosed cabinet stand, hinged wheel covers, 4" dust port and powerful 1 HP motor are all standard. And, with its cast iron frame and table, this bandsaw will be a reliable shop fixture for many years to come.

Summary: Versatile, powerful and productive 2009-04-05
Comment: I've been a weekend woodworker for over 20 years. I recently purchased the Shop Fox 14" saw to add versatility to my shop. The Shop Fox is heavy and well built. The cast iron wheels and 1 HP motor have effortlessly resawn several feet of black walnut. I've also cut veneer sheets from pecan that you could actually see light through. I spent about 2 hours setting up the saw, using the instructions in the manual. The saw required only minimal adjustments and those have not drifted at all in the last 6 weeks of use. I have used 1/8", 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" blades so far, all with no tracking problems or other issues. Blade changes are straight-forward and adjusting the guides is simple, but the lower guides are hard to reach unless you get down under the table. It's still not too bad and the adjustments are logically laid out. A riser is available that provides an additional 6" re-saw capability. I can recommend this saw to anyone.
